Equity and Inclusion.

  • $2M investment for K-12 tutors to support school day and after school literacy, math and French. 

  • Invested $50,000 for complimentary menstrual products for students who cannot afford them.

  • Lead equity initiatives that supported Indigenous, Black and 2SLGBTQ+ students throughout the board.

School Safety and Mental Health.

  • Championed investments in school health and safety, including $25M for HVAC systems, hand hygiene, and screening tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses.

  • Invested $2M in 2021-2022 for new mental health support staff, training, peer support, and community programs that support wellness for everyone in our schools.

Since joining the Board of Trustees in 2017 Jeremy has accomplished:

Learning Spaces for the Future.

  • Supported the investment of $7.5M in new money to support outdoor classrooms and expanded WiFi access. 

  • Worked with the province to secure over $60M for four new schools in our board.

  • Supported the school board’s energy management strategy which has earned the Ottawa Catholic School Board awards as a top energy managed public institution in Ontario.

  • Supported over $18M in upgrades in 2021-2022 to classrooms, labs and shops, sports facilities and technology hubs at schools across the board including, Notre Dame High School, St. George, Our Lady of Fatima, Dr. F.J. MacDonald, and St. Rose of Lima.

Protecting Catholic Education.

  • Continued pressure on the provincial government to ensure Ontario’s publicly funded Catholic education system remains financially strong and supported for years to come.

Leadership and Good Governance.

  • Served as Vice-Chair of the Board during the COVID-19 pandemic, labour negotiations, and cuts to education.

  • Successfully passed a $619.7M balanced budget which invested significantly in student needs while respecting taxpayer’s money.
